This SATA enclosure is idea for adding external storage space when your laptop’s hard drive has no more room for your photos, videos, music and documents. The U457-025-G1-WPG lets you connect a SATA solid state drive (SSD) or hard disk drive (HDD) to any device with a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port, including a MacBook, Ultrabook, Chromebook, notebook, tablet or PC. It also helps you retrieve data stashed on old 2.5-inch SATA III, II and I drives up to 2 TB. It will also support higher SATA capacities as they become available.

Transfers Data at Fast USB 3.1 Gen 1 Speeds with UASP Support
This adapter supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps, which is 10 times faster than USB 2.0, to give you more data storage, retrieval and backup capacity. A blue LED indicates when drive data is being read, written or transferred. The U457-025-G1-WPG reads data up to 70 percent faster and writes up to 40 percent faster when connected to a UASP-enabled host controller. It is also backward compatible with previous USB generations, allowing you to use it with older equipment.

IP66 Rating Denotes Resistance to Dust and Water
The IP66 rating means the SATA enclosure is not only 100% protected against dust, but also able to endure high-pressure jets of water from any direction with no damage or decline in performance. In addition to its water and dust resistance, the U457-025-G1-WPG is shockproof, giving you peace of mind without worrying about dropping and damaging the unit.

Built-In USB-C Cable Attaches in Either Direction
Unlike traditional USB cables that connect in only one direction, the reversible USB-C male connector plugs into a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port in either direction for a fumble-free connection every time. The seven-inch wraparound cable stores within the adapter, ensuring it will never become lost.
